CCNY: It’s always awkward when someone in administration resigns as the dean of CCNY’s largest division, Humanities and Arts, recently did. According to The Campus reporter, Tiffany McKay, enrollment has dropped in the division over the past few years — H&A Dean Eric Weitz came to the school in 2012. This drop has forced the division to chop its budget by $2 million. The school president called the resignation “very unexpected” but said Weitz will continue as a distinguished professor of history at the college and praised him as a “wonderful scholar who will be missed.”
The Campus offers a helpful Q&A on the move (spoiler alert: he wasn’t willing to make the cuts).
